EXHIBITIONS AND MUSEUMS TO DISCOVER IN SPRING IN ITALY

Some advices to nurture your soul. Away from traditional tourist routes

The advice is to visit:

behind Rimini and Cesena: an enchanting village, for some people magical, defined by Tonino Guerra as the “flying carpet of #Montefeltro”: a place with ruins of the Castle of the Malatesta. One of the most important family of the Renaissance.  Shall we go there together?

Another recommended spot to visit is:
  •  The Oratory of San Giovanni Battista

in #Urbino with wonderful frescoes by the Salimbeni brothers. Jacopo and Lorenzo painted the Oratory at the end of the fourteenth century, shortly before the birth of the Humanism of the Italian Renaissance. It has beautiful and vibrant colors. The cross in the painting unifies the livings and the deads, a fresco full of symbols, a book to read.

  •  Maria Maddalena : Mistery And Image

in #Forlì (ends  the 10th of July 2022) at San Domenico Museums (tickets) Her figure enshrouded in mystery is related to fundamental events related to the account of the life and death of Jesus of Nazareth: his death on the cross, his burial and the announcement of his resurrection. Over the centuries, an infinite number of other figures have been lumped and muddled together in this simple woman, making her a symbol of sin and repentance, loyalty and suffering, purity and love, fecundity and wisdom, carnality and sanctity, creating a narrative weave. The exhibitions shows pantings from #Tiziano, #Guercino and some of the most precious and entrancing works of art, masterpieces of all times from the 3rd to the 20th century A.D. that imagined her and pictured her.

  •  Guido Reni and Rome: Nature and Devotion

in #Rome (ends  May 22nd 2022 ) at Galleria Borghese (tickets) One of Giovanardi’s favorite paintings in the exhibition is “Atalanta e Ippomene” a metaphor of the spirit that wins over Eros and passions

The four pillars of Happiness are: language, landscape, the Myth and the ritual (cit. Cristina Campo)
