Gianciotto Romagna DOC Sangiovese Superiore 2017

 

It comes from Sangiovese grapes from Romagna clones, with large berries, which strongly characterize the identity of this place. It’s the lively expression of the Romagna Sangiovese from Rimini, born on the chalk of Torriana. Its intense and lively ruby color, the vinosity that recalls the scent of the must and the youthful exuberance with which it bursts, says so. It contains the Romagna’s soul with a generous fruit that recalls the notes of fleshy and ripe red fruit.

 

The matrix of the chalky soil gives it elegance in the fruit, ripe notes and concentration. It is a happy synthesis of this place and this time together. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in medium-capacity steel tanks, with maceration on the skins for twenty-one days and maturation for nine months in the tank.

Recommended with appetizers, cold cuts and full-bodied first courses. As an aperitif and during the whole meal.

Alcol 13,5% vol

 

PRODUCTION AREA: Montebello di Poggio Torriana, altitude 400 m a.s.l. The soil is sedimentary, originated from chalky marl. Vineyard age: 20 years, facing south-east.

GRAPE VARIETY: Sangiovese 100%. Spurred cordon system.

PRODUCTION: the average production is 13.000 bottles. Density of about 6500 plants per hectare with a yield of 80 quintals per hectare. The grape harvest and selection are carried out by hand with thinning in the vineyard. Since 2017 we have obtained the organic certification.

WINEMAKING: in steel.

AGING: 1 year in steel and 6 months in bottle.
